Pupil Leadership

At Bankwood, we aim for our children to leave ‘Prepared for life’. One of the ways we do this is by promoting leadership opportunities for our children to be involved in.

Current leadership opportunities for children within school include:

School Council
School councillors represent their class on the school council. They work together on various projects and support school leadership to look at ways of making our school even better. Recently, they have worked on our vision and new school logo.

Peer Mediators
The role of a peer ambassador is to support children in resolving conflict. They are present in the playground during playtimes and lunchtimes.

Travel Ambassadors
These children help promote active travel to school. They produce certificates and badges each month for those who have made active travel choices.

Equipment Monitors
Our equipment monitors work together to ensure there is a rotation of equipment and resources for children to use at break and lunch times. They ensure equipment is put away and stored correctly each day, as well as make sure every week it is safe to use.

Lunch Monitors
This role involves the monitors supporting staff at lunchtime. They ensure children come to lunch at the correct times and supervise with the collection and halls.
